January 26 is our Republic Day. We celebrate this day every year. It was on this day in 1950 that Indian became a Sovereign Democratic Republic and had aconstitution of its own. The Republic Day is celebrated all over the country with great pomp and show. In Delhi, it is celebrated amidst great enthusiasm and joy. A special parade is held on this day. Early in the morning people begin to assemble at Raj Path and other places form Rajapath to Red Fort to watch the parade. The President of India takes the salute. Happy Republic Day 2016

They are followed by tableaux form the different states. They depict a truepicture of the life and customs of the people of the respective state and the progress they have made after independence. Folk dances are held. The dancers sing and play on virus instruments. Boys andgirls of local colleges and schools march in precision and sing national song.There is a colorful fly-past be deferent types of aero panes. Rose petals are showered form the air and a tricolor of saffron, white and green, the colours of the national flag, is left behind. Republic day also called as 26 January which is celebrated every year as this day is of great importance for every Indian. Because at this day India was declared as the republic country as well as constitution of India came into force after independence of long years of struggle. India got independence on 15th of August in 1947 and two and half years later it became a Democratic Republic.

Our Motherland India was slave under the British rule for long years during which Indian people were forced to follow the laws made by British rule. After long years of struggle by the Indian freedom fighters, finally India became independent on 15th of August in 1947. After two and half years later Indian Government implemented its own Constitution and declared India as the Democratic Republic. Around two years, eleven months and eighteen days was taken by the Constituent Assembly of India to pass the new Constitution of India which was done on 26th of January in 1950.
